As we leave the lazy summer days behind us with Autumn just around the corner, we greet September! Schools are back as we prepare for a new season. Maybe enjoying the last few days of sunshine as we hope for an Indian Summer, before we really say goodbye and putting our summer wardrobe away, while bringing out jumpers and boots instead! Seeing blackberries in the hedgerows almost ready to pick and make crumbles and pies for the freezer, the sun is lower in the sky and the breezes are cooler now with daddy longlegs in the grasses, as Autumn Equinox approaches on the 23rd September. Mabon or Second Harvest. The time to give thanks for the summer and to pay tribute to the coming darkness.
Seasons change and we all experience change in our lives, whether it’s new relationships with others or breaking up, moving house, new schools, new class, change in health good or bad, lifestyle changes, changes in ourselves to live a better, happier and more fulfilled life. For some of us we like change and others don’t. Sometimes it’s easier if we expect change and not so easy if it comes as a shock. Either way, change happens...life doesn’t stand still and it’s up to us how we cope with change. We are all different. We can ask for advice, talk it over with close friends, but at the end of the day it’s our decision how to cope with change and what to do. The answer is always inside of us. Go within, either by meditating or a walk in nature or just having a quiet moment where you won’t be disturbed, ask the question to yourself whatever it is and let the ego go and listen with your heart. The answers will come when your mind is clear. Whatever change you are going though, just take one day at a time and cope with it your way.
